Regular attendance plays a vital part in helping your child to reach their full potential.
We expect pupils to arrive in time to start the day at 8.40am promptly. The school doors are open from 8.30am so that your children can arrive and make their way to their classrooms.
Should your child need to be absent we ask:
- Parents to inform school on the first day of your child’s absence, by telephone or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
- That absences due to medical appointments be supported by showing proof of the appointment to a member of office staff. This will ensure the absence is recorded as authorised.
- Requests for all other absences to be made using a Leave of Absence Form, available from the School Office.
- Pupils arriving after 8.40am should enter school via the School Office and must be signed in. Persistent absence and lateness may be followed up by the Headteacher and Children’s Services.
We follow the National Government guidelines for absences from school. Holidays during term time are NOT authorised except under the most exceptional circumstances. If you feel your circumstances are exceptional, a request form for authorised leave of absence can be obtained from the office and should be returned addressed to the Headteacher. Each request is considered on an individual basis. Please ensure you complete the request form BEFORE holiday bookings are made. Where authorised absence is requested due to close family weddings, special events and cultural/religious occasions, we will may request documention to substantiate the request.
