What you can expect from the teacher, if your child’s class is asked to learn from home:
- Daily learning uploaded onto the Google Classroom stream
- Differentiated activities, when necessary, to ensure that all children can access their learning (Named group and star challenge)
- Voice-over presentations and/or teacher modelling videos to support the children’s learning
- Daily ‘check ins’ on the Google Classroom stream
- Communication throughout the day with parents and pupils regarding the learning (via email or on Google Classroom)
- Feedback on learning tasks, once they have been submitted
- Support with technical difficulties
- Extra challenges, optional fun or well-being activities provided
What is expected of your child, if their class is asked to learn from home:
- Complete every lesson, every day
- Submit photos of the learning tasks on Google Classroom or email to the key stage email address
- Use neat handwriting and best presentation when completing learning tasks
- Ask the teacher, via Google Classroom, if help is required
- Engage on the Google Classroom stream on a daily basis, responding to teacher comments
- Practise spellings on Spelling Shed and/or practise the key stage word list
- Read at least three times a week
- Practise times tables on Times Table Rock Stars
- Take part in well-being activities and/or optional fun tasks
