Our Autumn Term theme is Becoming a geographer and a historian.  For the first term, children’s learning will be led by the enquiry question Where can the snake go around school?   This work will be inspired by the text ‘There’s a Snake in my School’. In Autumn term 2 we will be learning about the Great Fire of London and significant events that happened in November.  Our Spring themes are ‘A step back in time’ and ‘A wider journey around the UK. For the Summer term we will be learning about explorers and start by exploring our own local area.

Important information for Year 1:

• The children will have an indoor and outdoor PE session each week.  The days will change depending on the activity they are doing therefore please ensure your child has a PE kit in school every day.
• Please remember to bring your Reading Record every day.
• Children will take part in forest school sessions on a rota basis.

We would encourage pupils to read every day to develop their love for reading and to practice key math skills through Mathletics.
