patchwork Provision at Rose Hill Primary School
At Rose Hill Primary School we understand that some children benefit from additional support beyond what a mainstream school typically provides. Our Patchwork Class is an inclusive and specially resourced provision designed for children aged 5-11 with Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
With dedicated funding, Rose Hill is able to provide enhanced teaching and support staff for up to fourteen children, allowing us to create an inclusive environment that fosters understanding, empathy, achievement, and confidence for everyone in our school community. Our Patchwork students also have opportunities to join their linked mainstream classes, encouraging social integration, role modeling and a wider range of experiences to support their diverse needs.
The Patchwork provision includes two interconnected classrooms, a sensory room, a cozy room, a small teaching room and a dedicated outdoor space that we are continually developing. Our specialist SEN team of teachers and teaching assistants lead the majority of learning within the Patchwork setting, while offering mainstream inclusion as appropriate to each child's unique needs.
Our team develops tailored support programs for each child, taking into account every aspect of their EHCP as well as input from other support agencies. Collaboration with families is at the heart of what we do, and we work together with our Patchwork families to create a nurturing, supportive environment for our pupils.
Most of our children transition to Castle Hill High School after Year 6.
We warmly welcome visitors to experience our Patchwork provision during the school day. However, we only have fourteen places, which are allocated by the Local Authority, and always oversubscribed. If you believe this type of support may be right for your child, we recommend first reaching out to your designated Local Authority EHCP team member.
